Hello! I'm a FTM and new to this group. At only 6 weeks along it's obviously early, but I am thinking about the nursery already! I really want to get a Jenny Lind style crib and paint it a fun color, but there are obvious safety issues with painting a crib on your own - would never want the baby to chew on and ingest something toxic! Has anyone painted a crib before and knows what kind of paint would be best and safe to use? Or if anyone knows of an informative article, blog post, or website and can post the link that would be awesome! I'm not really sure where to start looking for info on this. Whether we have a colored crib or a white one will determine what other elements we bring into the room, so I need to figure out if there is a safe way to do this or not. Thanks!!
An antique Jenny Lind style rocking crib for decorative use. The crib features rounded knobbed wood spools topped with finials. The crib has detachable rockers. The Jenny Lind style became popular in the late 1860s, named after a well-known English singer who toured America in the mid-19th century, and continued to be manufactured into the 20th century. The crib is for decorative use only.
